La cannibale by Sporta Mon Ventoux
Last weekend we participated with Çois Cycling Legacy in Mon Ventoux, a cycling event organised by Sporta.
This year more than 2000 Belgian cyclists showed up at the start in the south of France.
According to annual tradition you could choose between a number of distances/formulas : from Ventourist to La Cannibale.
We ourselves resolutely chose the toughest challenge: La Cannibale.
This tour departs Malaucène at 6.30am and climbs straight to the top of Mont Ventoux (21 km with 1582 meters of altitude. Average ascent: 7.4%).
After the descent towards Sault, the Col D'Aulan (3.5%), Col De Perty (4.9%), Col St. Jean (6.4%) and Col De L'Homme Mort (4.2%) on the program.
Anyone who knows how to digest these cols will have to make a final ascent of the Mont Ventoux from Sault: 25.9 km with an average gradient of 4.4%.
In the end it turned out to be a fantastic trip of 193 km and 4700 meters in altitude, with beautiful views and wonderful experiences.
A big compliment for a great organisation!
